California Mathematics and Science Teaching Initiative (CMST)

Project description: CMST provides academic, financial and mentoring support to Mathematics and Science college majors who are pursuing teaching as a career. Coursework and field experience develop quality future teachers, CMSTers in collaborative partnerships with mentor teachers attempt to improve secondary student achievement in mathematics and science and motivate these students to pursue careers in these fields.

Partners/Collaborating Institutions: CMST partners with, the UCR Graduate School of Education, the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, UCR NSF Mathematical ACTS, MATE (Mathematics Academy for Teaching Excellence), the Inland Area Science Project, San Bernardino County schools, Riverside County Schools.
