School Psychology at UCR

The GSOE offers an APA accredited and NASP approved Ph.D. program in School Psychology that also leads to a state of California PPS credential. (The program does not currently offer a Masters Plus Credential only program.) The program is full time only and is typically completed in five and a half years (4 years on campus and a 5th year internship). The admissions process is very competitive and prospective applicants are encouraged to review the program’s web site to learn more about the admissions process.
-
Most students enter directly into the Ph.D. program after completing a bachelor’s degree, but the program also offers opportunities for individuals who already have a masters degree in School Psychology.
-
The program emphasizes developing skills in school environments including acquiring experience in systems reform and the implementation of the response to intervention approach to School Psychology Service delivery. Graduates work in school, university and clinic settings. (Please see the program’s website for more information about graduate student outcomes.)
All students will be advised by a member of School Psychology core faculty, but opportunities also exist to collaborate and possibly be co-advised by GSOE faculty in Special Education and Educational Psychology .
