Since 1969, the UCR School of Education, later the Graduate School of Education (GSOE), has linked research, instruction, and service in support of schooling and the broader spectrum of education.
Today, the GSOE offers educational opportunities in four broad areas:
Teacher Education
Credentialing programs in the following:

- Professional Administrative Services Credential
Graduate Degrees
Master's and doctoral degrees in the following:

- School Psychology
- Educational Psychology
- Educational Leadership and Policy (ELP)
- Special Education
- Higher Education Administration and Policy
- Master's of Education
The graduate school combines the preparation of academics and practitioners — researchers, teachers, and administrators — to develop university and school leaders who can produce and apply useful knowledge.
