The Graduate School of Education is ranked No. 55 in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best Grad School rankings, up 24 spots from No. 79 in 2021. With 277 colleges of education in the U.S. awarding doctoral degrees, this ranking puts GSOE in the top 20 percent of graduate education schools in the nation.
“We are honored by this recognition. It’s a testament to our exceptional faculty, who are on the forefront of education research, as well as our dedicated staff, students, and alumni,” said Interim Dean Louie Rodríguez. “These rankings signal that our school is moving in the right direction, and we will continue to develop compassionate educators, address equity and social justice, and remain focused on student success and community impact, which are all at the center of our mission in the GSOE.”
The USNWR’s annual rankings seek to recognize the top universities and programs, and are based on reputation and statistical surveys conducted in fall 2020 and early 2021. Key factors that contributed to GSOE's ranking jump was an increase in funded research, as well as higher academic excellence and reputation scores from deans of graduate studies at education schools and educational hiring professionals in the quality assessment category.
