GSOE's business operations manager selected for Emerging Leaders Program

Congratulations to Alison Rodriguez, business operations manager for the Graduate School of Education and the School of Public Policy, on being selected into the inaugural cohort of The National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO)'s Emerging Leaders Program.

The cohort includes 73 high-potential business officers, selected from a large pool of applicants, for a yearlong online leadership development experience.

According to the press release, the cohort will work to enhance their personal leadership skills, examine the impact of the business office and cross-campus relationships, and gain a better understanding of the present state and future of higher education.

The new program seeks to advance the careers of mid-level managers by—

  • Enhancing participants' personal leadership skills for their current roles and future opportunities
  • Helping participants examine the workings and impact of the higher education business office and cross-campus relationships
  • Giving participants a better understanding of the present state and possible futures of higher education
  • Broadening participants' networks

“We are thrilled to add the Emerging Leaders Program to NACUBO’s suite of professional development offerings for promising business officers,” said Susan Whealler Johnston, NACUBO president and CEO. “We strongly encouraged candidates from under-represented groups in higher education leadership to apply, and this explicit focus on diversity comes at just the right time for the business office, as new perspectives are needed to help the entire sector continue to evolve.”

The new program reflects NACUBO’s organizational priority to strengthen and diversify the chief business officer pipeline. For more information visit their website.
