Should University of California require SAT and ACT for admissions?

There is a debate underway about whether the University of California should require SAT and ACT for admissions.

Eddie Comeaux, associate professor of higher education and co-chair of a state wide task force currently reviewing the role of standardized testing in UC admissions, recently spoke to KPCC's Take Two about how SAT/ACT scores can factor into equitable admissions for college students. "Maybe standardized testing is more about measuring privilege; if you're able to get access to advanced academic coaches and preparatory programs, it may advance your possibilities of getting a desirable score," Comeaux explains. He also discusses other factors that the UC system takes into consideration beyond test scores.
