What is the STEAM Academy?
The STEAM Academy is a two-week, academic experience providing quality STEM programming for middle and high school students with a specific focus on those who are under-performing, but have high potential and high interest. Students are engaged in hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM). Participants engage their creativity, enhance their approach to problem solving, and develop communication and critical thinking skills.

STEAM Team Teacher Academy
The STEAM Team Teacher Academy is a week long experiential learning experience for educators. Participants will engage in guided explorations and discussions on important readings in the areas of STEM equity, culturally contextualized STEM learning, and productive struggle. These concepts will be put into practice during daily STEAM activity sessions with middle and high school students, and their families.
Teacher Academy participants will have the opportunity to engage in these sessions both as learners and co-facilitators. Each day will conclude with a debrief of /reflection on the day’s STEAM activity.
