Racial Justice

Racial Justice M.Ed. Program

This M.Ed. emphasis is designed for individuals who are interested in developing a critical lens to identify, discuss, and address racial issues and their intersection with other structures of power across the K-20 pipeline and in community-based educational contexts. Racial justice requires individuals and institutions to identify and act to disrupt racism embedded in systems. The emphasis provides students with rigorous theoretical and applied frameworks to understand the social, historical, racial, cultural, linguistic, gendered, and institutional factors impeding racial justice within educational spaces, as well as to learn approaches that foster a more racially just and culturally sustaining educational system.
