M.Ed. in Special Education with Education Specialist Credential
Are you interested in becoming a special education teacher in California? UC Riverside's Master's degree in Special Education program will prepare you to navigate all areas of teaching, and can be completed in just over a year. You'll earn your Education Specialist Instructional Credential in mild/moderate and moderate/severe authorizations in one-year (4 quarters), and coursework for your M.Ed. in Special Education will be completed in the 5th quarter of the program.
Program Overview
- Tuition approximately $22,650. Scholarships and financial aid available including our Special Education Scholars program which funds a limited number of qualified students who enroll in this program
- Field and practicum experiences completed at assigned school sites with partnering school districts during the day
- Late afternoon and evening classes on the UCR campus
Admissions Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
- A minimum 3.0 GPA based on the last 90 quarter units in the baccalaureate program
- Passage of Basic Skills and Subject Matter requirements
- Three letters of recommendation
- Official degree posted transcripts
