We are seeking dynamic, collaborative, social justice-oriented TK-12 educators to serve as District Cooperating Teachers (DCTs) for teacher candidates in UCR’s Teacher Education Program who are aligned with the vision and goals of the program.

Requirements of Becoming District Cooperating Teachers
We are currently seeking district cooperating teachers who:
- Have a minimum of three years of content area K-12 teaching experience.
- Hold a Clear Credential in the content area for which your are interested providing supervision
- Embody a strength-based perspective of diverse students and families as it pertains to race, class, citizenship, dis/ability, language, gender and sexuality.
- Facilitate critical thinking, inquiry-based discussions, and cooperative-based learning in their classroom. Learn more about this here.

Your Commitment to the Role
All District Cooperating Teachers will:
- Undergo training - 20 hrs or different
- Host and co-teach with a teacher-candidate for a school year
- Spend at least 5 hours each week planning and debriefing with a teacher candidate to support their development
- Collaborate in meetings to evaluate teacher candidate growth with university supervisor
