District Cooperating Teachers


Inland Empire Teachers: Come Partner With Us! 

We are seeking dynamic, collaborative, social justice-oriented TK-12 educators to serve as District Cooperating Teachers (DCTs) for teacher candidates in UCR’s Teacher Education Program who are aligned with the vision and goals of the program.
 

  • Requirements of Becoming District Cooperating Teachers

    We are currently seeking district cooperating teachers who:

    1. Have a minimum of three years of content area K-12 teaching experience.
    2. Hold a Clear Credential in the content area for which your are interested providing supervision
    3. Embody a strength-based perspective of diverse students and families as it pertains to race, class,  citizenship, dis/ability, language, gender and sexuality.
    4. Facilitate critical thinking, inquiry-based discussions, and cooperative-based learning in their classroom. Learn more about this here.

  • Your Commitment to the Role

    All District Cooperating Teachers will:

    • Undergo training - 20 hrs or different
    • Host and co-teach with a teacher-candidate for a school year
    • Spend at least 5 hours each week planning and debriefing with a teacher candidate to support their development 
    • Collaborate in meetings to evaluate teacher candidate growth with university supervisor
